I think this cheery neighborhood hang out is truly a find on this glitzy strip of Columbus Avenue - where most of the restarants are more about style than substance.You walk in and the pretty, fresh blue and white decor wisk you away to your last vacation in Santorini.I love the big containers of greek salt on the tables! A quick look at the wine list shows a great selection of greek wines as well as the more usal Californian and French selections. The waitstaff can advise you on which of the greek wines you might enjoy dependent on your tastes - there are some wonderful crisp dry wines - which make a refreshing change from the usual chardonay. The food here is truly surprising. One appetizer I really recommend is the grilled octupus and calimari salad, thick char grilled octupus, mingled with grilled calimari in a tangy, fennel infused dressing. Another fun thing to try is the tower of appetizers - allsorts of dips, grilled greek cheeses - salads and home cured olives - and wonderful home baked bread for dipping. For main courses I really recommend all of the grilled items. They have a fire roaring in the kitchen and cook fresh fish, meats and kabobs. Trust the specials board - the kitchen staff here know what the are going. There is a lively bar mostly filled with neighborhood people - not too trendy or sceene-y - definitely a great place to go for a fun relaxing evening and great eating.
